Golfing in Mauritius
Mauritius is a perfect place to combine golf with tropical island luxury, the catalyst having been the creation in 1994 of Belle Mare Plage.
With its dozen 18-hole golf courses and as many 9-holes, Mauritius has become a Golf destination. Most of them are within hotel resorts, designed up to world championship standards. Semi-independent Golf courses such as the Ile aux Cerfs 18-hole course are now accessible to non-residents.
The Gymkhana Club, situated in Vacoas and being the most ancient golf course of Mauritius may not feature all the complexities of modern golf courses, but it is perfectly maintained. The course is a par 68 of 4,870 meters long.
Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course, situated on the Ile aux Cerfs islet, just 1 km off the shore of Trou d’Eau Douce, on the East coast of Mauritius is one of these wonderful and unique courses of the world and has recently been ranked No. 10 in the top 100 Golf Courses in the World by Golf World magazine. Transfers by speedboat are available every 20 minutes. (10 minutes transfer time). The course is open from 6:30am to sunset daily and green fees are at 156.60 Euros / person, 18 holes: (including boat shuttle).

The North Coast
The golf course at the Maritim Hotel is a Par 29, 9 hole course designed by Graham Marsh. Green fee is free of charge, to the Maritim Hotel residents. Golf lessons are available.

The Legend Golf course, located in the East coast, is a superb 18-hole course which is a Par 72 of 6,014 meters. It is only accessible and free of charge to the Belle Mare Plage Hotel and the Prince Maurice Hotel residents. The course includes a clubhouse with restaurant, rentals and golf academy.
The Links Golf Course is the other course of the Constance Hotels group. It is an 18-hole of Par 71 of 5,942 meters. Compared to the Legend, the Links Golf Course is accessible to non-residents as well. The course includes a clubhouse with restaurant, rentals and golf academy.
Rates
There are no green fees to residents of the Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Le Prince Maurice hotel but Club Cars are compulsory at the rate of approx. 15 Euros for an 18 hole.
For Non residents, the green fee is at 100 Euros including the compulsory (non exclusive) golf car and a basket of 40 practice balls.
A maximum of 4 hrs 10 minutes is allowed for an 18 hole play.
The South-East Coast
The Golf Course at the Shandrani hotel is a 9 hole Par 29 of 776 meters. The course is accessible free of charge to all residents of the Shandrani hotel and of any other Beachcomber hotels.

The South Coast
Adjacent to the Heritage Golf & Spa Resort and the Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort, the spectacular "Golf du Chateau" in Bel Ombre, is an international 18 hole golf course (Par 72 of 6,498 metres).It is located about 50 minutes from the International Airport and 75 minutes from Port Louis.
The West Coast
Located on 152 hectares of land within the 206 hectares that make up Tamarina Golf Estate in Tamarin Bay,� the Tamarina Golf Estate course plays along side and crosses Rempart River with ocean views from selective holes. Holes have been specially designed to give scenic views of the spectacular Mount Rempart. Tamarina Golf Estate is about 45 minutes from Plaisance International Airport and 25 minutes from Port Louis.

Situated in the South West Coast, the Paradis Golf Club, PAR 72 course of 5,899 metres, is the most impressive course as it is situated both at the foot of the Le Morne mountain and right on the shore. The course is accessible to all residents of any Beachcomber hotels, including the "Paradis Hotel & Golf Club" itself and neighbour "Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa".
Rates are as follows:
Green fees for Residents: (9 or 18 holes) = 15 Euros / person
Green fees for non-residents (9 or 18 holes) = 83 Euros / person
Lessons: 1 person = 24 Euros, 2 persons =38 Euros
Residents and non-residents should book 2 days in advance.
The course counts a clubhouse with restaurant, rentals and golf lessons.
Dress code
Polo shirt, bermuda short, socks & soft spikes (golf shoes). No jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes are allowed.
Reservations procedures
It is essential to book at least 2 days in advance. Upon reservation, a land transfer service is also proposed.
